Technical issues and bugs

I'm using Internet Explorer - is there are problem with the website?

Due to the way older versions of Internet explorer render webpages, the Desal Wiki does not appear the way it was designed. We recommend that you upgrade to a modern web browser. Please click here for the most popular web browsers for your present time.

Uploading FAQ

I can't upload my image/video/media file onto the Desal Wiki database. What do I do?

MediaWiki (the software on which the Desal Wiki is built) is currently set to allow certain file types to be uploaded to the database. The list of allowable file types should be listed on the uploads page. If you can't change your file type and still want to upload the file, please contact an administrator.

What are the RED links?

A red coloured link means that the wiki page of that link hasn't been created yet. If users believe that their page should exist, double check the link's coding in the edit page. Common mistakes includes misplacing pipe syntax, and forsaking capitalization of letters.

I just saved my entry, and somehow made a horrible mess of the page. How can I undo my changes?

Media wiki saves all entries whenever the 'save page' button is pressed. This allows users to revert to previous entries if needed. This can be performed by clicking 'Page Tools' then select 'History'. Now click 'undo' on the revision that you created - then 'save'.
