Perth Seawater Desalination Plant - Post-treatment

From Desal Wiki

Lime and carbon dioxide are used to increase water pH, hardness and alkalinity. Lime dosing involves 6 tonnes of lime per day while approximately 2 tonnes of CO₂ per day is injected into the system. Chlorination and fluoridation take place downstream of the stabilisation process. Drinking water is stored in a storage tank that can hold 12,500 m³ of water and transferred to Thomson Reservoir 11 km away from the water pumping station.
